Vivek Agnihotri has been quite outspoken lately and has been sharing his views on Bollywood. His last directorial venture, The Kashmir Files, proved to be a historic blockbuster at the box office and witnessed one of the best trends in the history of Indian cinema. The latest thing that caught her attention is her slapstick on Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Back when The Kashmir Files was getting applause from the audience, Discretion Bollywood stars and celebs were reprimanded for not showering even a single praise for his release. He had said that most of the people of Bollywood do not have the guts to show the true tragedy of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir, hence remain silent when it comes to praising his film.

Now, in his latest tweet, Vivek Agnihotri reacting to a report in BBC News has taken a veiled dig at the titles bestowed on Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan by people. He tweeted, ‘As long as there is Badshah, Badshah, Sultan in Bollywood, it will sink. Make it a people’s industry with people’s stories, it will lead the global film industry. #fact.”

As expected, this has garnered Vivek Agnihotri enough attention from the netizens and has received mixed reactions so far. In support of Vivek, a Twitter user wrote, “Shahrukh Khan No longer the king of Bollywood.” Another user wrote, “Indian cinema needs to democratize society”. At the same time, a Twitter user who criticized Vivek’s remarks wrote, ‘King Badshah Sultan has been given by people. Not by himself. And King makes the industry proud with his blockbuster film. Everyone is contributing in their own way to the industry. There is nothing to be jealous about.”
