
Brazilian actor Gabriel Leone is set to star alongside Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and Shailene Woodley in Michael Mann’s directorial “Ferrari”. According to the report of ‘Deadline’, the cameras for which the cameras will be operational from August 1 in Italy.
Adam Driver played the title role with Shailene as the woman in his life in the film, set during the summer of 1957. As former race car driver-turned-magnet Enzo Ferrari avoids bankruptcy as he seeks salvation with a victory at the Mille Miglia, a treacherous 1,000-mile race in which the pre-eminent carmaker vie for bragging rights fights, injuring their drivers in turns and turns at 180 mph.
In the background, according to Deadline, Ferrari battles with his wife and business partner, Laura, as their marriage falls apart over the mourning of their son and the acceptance of another potential heir.

‘Deadline’ further states that Leon is playing the role of Alfonso di Portago, who was one of Ferrari’s driving stars and an icon of the courageous drivers of that era. He was a handsome and wealthy Spanish aristocrat who captured the imagination of Europe and was the favorite to win the Mille Miglia and his results changed the race forever, but not in the way it was intended. STX Entertainment holds the worldwide rights to the film.
Mann will direct “Ferrari” with a script by Troy Kennedy Martin and Mann himself will be based on Brock Yates’ book “Enzo Ferrari – The Man and the Machine”. Mann is producing through his Moto Productions banner with PJ van Sandwijk and Birdman producer John Lesher as well as Niels Juul executive-producer with Lars Sylvest, Thorsten Schumacher and Gareth West.
